Favourite Restaurants in Europe

So happy we got to return to some of our fave restaurants in Europe over the past few weeks and at the same time discover some new gems. Here’s a few that are well worth checking out:

Restaurante Canastra, Ericeira – Located 45 minutes outside of Lisbon this spot just has a selection of fish that’s grilled to perfection and served with potatoes and vegetables. So simple yet so right.

Adega São Nicolau, Porto – Classic Portuguese home-cooking as it’s best. Grilled steaks, octopus rice, chicken bordelaise, fresh fish grilled to perfection. The home-made deserts were out of this world too. This is my definition of a perfect restaurant.

La Pubilla, Barcelona – Classic Catalan set lunch menu that changes daily. At €19 for 3 courses with wine, this might be the best lunch deal in Europe (a close second would be in Le Bastringue in Paris). So good. Reservations always needed.

Lluritu, Barcelona – The most delicious fresh seafood dishes cooked over wood. So simply yet the chefs clearly have amazing technique. This might be my fave restaurant of all-time. Go if you like seafood.

Viblioteca, Barcelona – This might be my all-time fave wine bar. There’s lot’s of wine offered by the glass, and the food and cheese offered pairs beautifully with the wine. Defo get the confit tomato with burrata – it’s incredible, and also take a few jars of their onion and raison jam home with you (they serve this with their cheese).

Le Capannine, Florence – This is a really cosy family-run spot with the most amazing comfort dishes you could want after a day of walking around Florence. Think grilled meats and pasta (the pappardelle with wild boar ragu is phenomenal).

Il piccolo vicolo, Rome – We checked out a lot of neighbourhood pasta joints during our time in Italy and this one won our hearts. The pasta dishes are amazing (best we had on this trip), and the service was great as well.

Other restaurants in Europe that we didn’t get a chance to visit on this trip but are all worth a detour:
